Welcome to the lechtermann.net: OpenBSD journal
Although, personally, I am mainly interested in *BSD, especially OpenBSD,
I still have good knowledge regarding Linux. I am even a Red Hat Certified
Engineer (RHCE certificate), so it fits that currently CentOS and Fedora
are, by far, my favorite linux distributions.
Currently I work for the Host Europe GmbH as System Administrator
for Managed Hosting servers, helping our customers with various
problems regarding general administration, configuration and
installation of additional and existing software and performance analysis.
Aside from that I also create and maintain various shell scripts (mostly
bash) that make our day to day job a little easier and also (that is the
important part) improves the support for our customers.
I am using OpenBSD since version 3.7 in various environments. Back then
I was looking for a rock solid, easy to maintain and upgrade, operating
system with emphasis on security... which I found in OpenBSD. Currently
I am using OpenBSD on various machines. At home, as a second machine
next to WinXP (used for playing), on my IBM X41T notebook and also on my
PC Engines ALIX 2C3 home routers. This website is running on a sparc64
Sun Fire v440 server (dmesg) with OpenBSD-current.
